What is a DOT Physical?
A DOT physical is a federally required exam (FMCSA) performed by a certified medical examiner to confirm you’re medically and mentally fit to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
What to expect
If you meet FMCSA standards, you’ll receive a Medical Examiner’s Certificate (“DOT card”) valid for up to 24 months; certain health conditions may require a shorter certification period.
